The Yoga Day celebration at The Icon Public School on 21st June 2023 proved to be a resounding success, with enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and staff members. The event effectively promoted the importance of yoga as a means to improve physical fitness, mental well-being, and overall health. It provided an opportunity for the school community to come together, learn, and embrace a healthy lifestyle. The positive impact of the event is expected to have long-lasting effects on the well-being of the participants, encouraging them to incorporate yoga into their daily routines.

Our Principal Mrs. Dipika Nagarwalla addressed the students emphasizing the importance of yoga in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and enhancing concentration. Certified yoga instructors Miss Pratima Bhalerao, Miss Sajaree Paedeshi and Miss Aditi Swami from Yog Vidhya Dham’ Ahmednagar were invited to lead the participants in different yoga sessions. The instructors guided the students through various yoga asanas (poses) suitable for different age groups and skill levels. The sessions focused on promoting flexibility, strength, balance, and relaxation. The instructors also emphasized the importance of correct breathing techniques.

In addition to physical postures, meditation and mindfulness exercises were incorporated into the session .Students and staff members were introduced to techniques such as mindful breathing, body scan, and guided visualization, which aimed to reduce stress, improve focus, and enhance overall well-being.The event aimed to promote physical and mental well-being among students and staff, foster a sense of mindfulness, and encourage a healthy lifestyle through the practice of yoga.
